Betcha can't guess what I just saw...

WOW

Can it be true?  Charlie & the Chocolate Factory SURPASSES POTC?!

Indeed my friends, it does.

The sugary goodness trancends the screen... I was so GIDDY in that theatre... elated... Dan thought I was crazy... WOW! Love Johnny Depp's voice... made me laugh, and the part when Grandpa George is swearing and Charlie's ears are covered so you don't hear anything... rocks.... HAHA ALL THE OOMPA LOOMPAS ARE

INDIAN

hey, maura: L-I-B!

sry... inside joke...

Which reminds me, attention attendants of Cristeta's 13th (POTC celebration) Birthday Party!! Remember how Maura, Arushi, Lizzy & I ran into my sliding glass door like 20 times in that one night? Well... 2 words: Glass Elevator...

OMG SARUMAN!!! Lizzy and I were like *collective gasp* ALWAYS THE BAD GUY I TELL YOU!!! and he's a dentist this time? what's up w/ that.. he's a brit.. brits have bad teeth cause of they're tea and bad dental plans...

Dan joked that I should get a Willy Wonka cardboard stand-up... and now that I think about it... My room is in desparate need of one... one to go right next to my shrine of John Christopher Depp the Third....

Now, Canada...

Canada ROCKED.  Canada ROLLED.  Canada was so much better than I expected this year.

So yeah, i was bummed i was gonna miss opening of HP 6 and C&tCF, but THEATRE is worth it.

So we get up there on the 12th, and we're just relaxing, shopping mostly... Got some cool stuff for the Ren Faire! ... on the 14th, we wake up early to go to a Talk Theatre session w/ the Executive Directors of the Festival to talk about adaptations & interpretations of shows... it was so cool! We discussed philosophy and literature and ethics and morals... I even got to bring up our own small production of 80's Midsummer, and the directors of the BIGGEST THEATRICAL FESTIVAL IN THE AMERICAS thought that was way cool.  So there's that.

After the talk, went to see INTO THE WOODS LOVED IT!!! The Princes made me LAUGH SO HARD!!! "AGONY! ALL THE TORTURE THEY TEACH!!!" the Baker was ADORABLE.  I saw him (BRUCE DOW!!!) as Nicely Nicely Johnson (tee hee... memories of Robbie) last year in the Stratford production of Guys & Dolls, and he was captivating then... but as the Baker, he was ASTOUNDING!  I SOBBED do you know how much it takes me to SOB in PUBLIC?! I idolized that guy Bruce Dow after that performance, he was so breathtakingly GOOD at acting and his voice was honey.... and NO he isn't hott & spicy, he's actually rather chubby and round. but GEEZ was he PERFECT.

After Into the Woods, rushed over to ANOTHER theatre for a dinner & talk about the Shakespearean play "As You LIke It" which Stratford was doing in a 60's "Summer of Love" style and all the lyrical songs Shakespeare had written were put to music by the BARENAKED LADIES it was so cool! So I got the soundtrack... LOVE IT!

The next day (my golden birthday, the 15th, opening of Charlie & the Chocolate factory) we saw "Hello, Dolly!" the musical in the evening... it was pretty sweet.  There's this train scene that was SO COOL because they had this TRAIN ON THE STAGE.  And the stage is a Shakespeare stage, one of the kind that proturdes into the audience like... well... in all honesty... a penis... talk about phalic symbols... so ANYWAY, "Hello, Dolly!" was cool, costumes were glorious... but guess who sat behind me in that show?  MY IDOLIZED BAKER!!!! THE GUY WHO MADE ME CRY!!! I WAS IN SHOCK!!! no i didn't get his autograph, yes i was shy...

after Hello, Dolly! we got to talk to some of the Cast Members... and there was this Italian guy who reminded me SO MUCH of Paolo... this guy's name was Gabriel and he was a dancer (does splits and holds himself up horizontal by pushing off a chair with 1 arm!) and he was 20 and he wore EVERYTHING PUMA...

Well, that's the bulk of the best hat happened.. it's late and though I'm not tired, I think I'm keeping my mom up, which is bad since she works @ 6am.... I'll tell ya more later if you feel like calling or I'm online...

o, and one more thing... this is Johnny Depp's second "chocolate" movie... just a random memory because last summer I watched "Chocolat" about 8 times...
